NAKEDBURN - JADED
NAKEDBURN hail from Toronto, Ontario, with an emo leaning, post-hardcore sound. Influenced by veterans of the sad and loud sound like Underoath, Movements, and Citizen. Infectious hooks and melodies with god-tier production showcase their songwriting skills beyond their years as a band, and their sound offers a wide spectrum to warrant their comparisons to the legendary bands that have influenced their style.
NAKEDBURN guitarist, Luc Chiasson is an accomplished engineer and music producer outside of the band. Since joining in May of 2024, he has taken on the bulk majority of recording and producing within the band. He co-owns studio Room 21 Sound with ex-NAKEDBURN bassist, Kyle Marchant, another accomplished producer and collaborator of the band.
Luc states that the release of jaded marks a step in a new direction for NAKEDBURN.
We had a chat with him to get the details on this new single, the music video for it, and the plans for their upcoming EP, Drowning.
“This single is the first to fully incorporate the ideas and contributions of all members of the band, which has inspired a new found confidence in the band's songwriting ahead of its release. The song also features Cancer Bats vocalist, Liam Cormier, who takes the bridge section of the song to another level with his signature vocal tone and cut throat delivery. Since the song's inception, talks within the band about partnering with an iconic voice such as Liam's were always part of the plan, and so to have him be a part of it was truly inspiring and a blessing for us.”
WHAT DOES THE BAND’S WRITING PROCESS USUALLY CONSIST OF?
“Originally, the band was a solo project headed by singer Matt Guarrasi and then producer Daniel Bell. It wasn't until the writing and recording of the band's 6th single, 'safe to say' where I got involved in the process.”
Since then, NAKEDBURN has taken on a more collaborative approach, usually writing in-studio based on ideas kicked off by Luc and Matt.
HOW WAS THE RECORDING PROCESS FOR JADED?
“Naturally, with the access and advantage of the studio, Room 21 Sound has acted as the headquarters for the band which has made the writing and recording process very streamlined and comfortable for its members.” Jaded was also mixed and mastered by Luc, but personnel for the remainder of the EP is to be determined.
“ALL IN ALL, THIS SONG IS ONLY THE START OF WHAT’S TO COME AND WE BELIEVE THAT IT WAS THE RIGHT CALL TO DROP FIRST AHEAD OF THE EP’S RELEASE AS IT WILL KEEP FANS ON THEIR TOES FOR WHATS NEXT WITH NAKEDBURN”.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR NAKEDBURN?
“Jaded” marks the first single off of the band's new EP, Drowning, which is slated for an early release in 2025. The EP will feature a collection of new songs that showcase a wide range of styles for NAKEDBURN, and will surely be an exciting turn for long time fans of the band.”
In addition to this, the band is in the midst of planning a more extensive tour schedule which will take them outside of Ontario to other parts of Canada. There is no confirmation yet on when or where this will be, but fans can stay up to date by following NAKEDBURN on social media.
“Ultimately, the goal of NAKEDBURN would be to travel internationally to the US or Europe within the next year to cultivate a larger audience.”.
ANY CLOSING WORDS?
“We want to thank all the people involved in the band's journey thus far. NAKEDBURN is endlessly grateful for all the people who have given us this amazing opportunity to share our music with the world. We’re just five guys who are immensely passionate about making music that we want to hear, and we hope to help cultivate unity and community in the music scene whether you're into emo, hardcore, metal, or any other genre. Good music is good music, and don't let others gatekeep you from enjoying the things that inspire you.”
