Jenafur from Mississauga, Ontario are a Canadian band with a nostalgic 2000s era-post hardcore sound warped  by the influence of Midwest Emo riffs.

It’s an eccentric combo that really works for them. Literally the only band that can remind me of a Crisis era Alexisonfire (most notable example is the track “Six Years” from their 2023 EP “Sometime, Thereafter”) and in the same sentence I can also type that they just covered Joyce Manor on their most recent 2024 EP release “H/E/A/R/S/E” and pulled it off flawlessly with screamed vocals as if it was somehow a natural thing to do.

Yes somehow the noodly riffs that are a staple of the Midwest Emo twinkled their way into Jenafur alongside the early 2000s sound of your favourite third wave emo and post HC bands you would’ve posted on your MySpace profile. It’s a crazy twist of many musical worlds that have created their own vortex pulling everyone into its orbit with catchy hooks on every song chorus, sing along lyrics, and perfectly screamed emo vocals that all hit you like a band you’ve known for decades.

Nostalgic yet innovate and redefining genre boundaries. Jenafur is a sound for the oldheads that fits in with the new wave of emo and almost any mixed bill you could think up.
